«It is not just a matter of black and white»
Interactive Bubble Method in an Art Installation
Christian Philipp Müller, Kestnergesellschaft Hannover, Germany, 2016

After the success of the Interactive Bubble Method exhibition at 'Grafik16', Superdot was invited to collaborate with artist Christian Philipp Müller on his exhibition commissioned by Kestnergesellschaft Hannover, one of the largest and most established art associations in Europe. The concept of the artwork was to arrange statements about the association and its scope around a Zebra's head with covered eyes. Visitors could stick dots next to the statements they agreed with. There were four dot categories: small black for regular visitors, blue for committee members, green for active members and large orange for sponsors.

In a second step, Superdot evaluated all the dots to rank the statements by category. Top answers were marked with a stylised medal. The results enabled valuable discussions and reflections with different stakeholder groups, revealing hidden patterns and surprising insights. Here once again data visualisation acts as a time-capsule, capturing and documenting insights from a particular moment in time.
