James Dixon (Mountain Brook)'s profile

Birmingham Rotary Club Holds Career-Preparation

A former resident of Mountain Brook, Alabama, James Dixon currently serves as a managing director of Stifel Nicolaus & Company. Before and after his time in Mountain Brook, James Dixon has given back to the community through his work with local charitable organizations such as the Birmingham Rotary Club (BRC).

Founded in 1913, BRC is one of thousands of local Rotary Club chapters currently operating in 164 countries around the world. True to the mission of its parent organization, BRC follows the principle that “he who profits most serves best” by connecting professional members of the community with opportunities to give back in a civic capacity. Over the years, BRC members have also served in leadership capacities with the Red Cross, the United Way, and the larger Rotary International organization.

Committed to helping the next generation of Birmingham residents get a head start in their careers, BRC offers an annual career preparation conference. The 2018 conference was held on March 16 and offered workshops and sessions related to interview skills and resume preparation for local 11th grade students. Rotary Club members acted as mock interviewers and evaluators, offering students the opportunity to develop career-planning skills from successful members of the field.
