Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Alabama Chapter Events

A resident of the Birmingham-Mountain Brook, Alabama, area, James Dixon now serves as managing director of the southeast region with Stifel Nicolaus & Company. Beyond his professional pursuits, James Dixon is a supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation.

The CF Foundation maintains 70 local chapters and branch offices throughout the United States to work toward the goal of finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. The Alabama chapter has already scheduled some of its special events for 2018. The highly anticipated Great Strides event is the CF Foundation's biggest fundraiser. The annual walk is in its 30th year of existence. This year, more than $2 million has already been raised toward the CF Foundation's nationwide goal of $39 million. Alabama walks are scheduled from April 7 to May 19 in seven communities, including Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Birmingham, Auburn, and Mobile.

Other special events hosted by the Alabama CF Foundation chapter include Shoot for a Cure and a cocktail gala to signal the end of the Birmingham's Finest campaign. Shoot for a Cure will be held October 12 at Selwood Farm in Alpine, where teams of four shooters will participate in a tournament for a chance to win awards. The cocktail event, meanwhile, is scheduled for November 8 at the B&A Warehouse and will serve as a celebration of young professionals and their contributions to the CF Foundation.
