Blurred boundaries. Lapis between branding, design and art is an editorial artifact representing the final project for the Bachelor thesis in Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano. Starting from the showcase of Lapis, a fictional branding project about a pencil company, the book revolves around a basic jet very complex question: what is the difference between design and art? Where is the boundary, if it even exists? Through the practice and the words of some important figures in the world of design the thesis reflects upon function and meaning, investigating the interconnections between design, art, science and technology.
