Wildeburg 2017 (festival)

Wildeburg 2017
art direction, video production, set design, motion design

Wildeburg festival is surreal, sexy and beyond grasp. Whoever doesn’t get it is struck out. Those who do get it cannot wait to re-enter once again that special place where time and space evaporate. Wildeburg knows no walls or confines, only the synthesis of phantasm and nature. In order to share that unique feeling with its passionate base, the essence of Wildeburg had to be defined.

The unnerving, endless suspense of waiting for the festival’s next edition, is the conceptual framework of the promotional video. All the characters seem straight pulled out of the festival. Their fanatic life style is both inspiring and absurd, artistic and unheard. Set design, styling, art direction, edit and sound design seamlessly come together to unravel something unreal.

Honey hourglass
The tiring and oozing waiting for Wildeburg is visually and symbolically projected through an hourglass that stacks honey instead of sand. Likewise, other aspects of the story have been turned into physical props and sets, so as to materialise the truly surreal. Honey, shells and bamboo are not randomly chosen substances. All three of them can actually be found at the festival’s location and furthermore symbolically represent life elixir, beauty and music. The mere combining of the three, is food for the imagination.

Making of
A video with such rich a story line to tell, was in need of solid production itself,
coordinating 22 crew professionals of different video disciplines.
