CIEN Consulting is an IT start-up that asked me to design a logo.

Their initial idea was to have a mountain logo so I began to do some sketching. I also did some research and found some trends in IT logos. Most of them use just their company name and a simple symbol. A few of them made a design out of the first letter of their company name. I proposed those ideas to the CIEN team and let them decide which direction they wanted to go.

After showing them these initial sketches, they ended up liking the idea of using just the letter C as the logo. I did more sketching with just the C, experimenting with shapes, curves, straight lines etc. 

We agreed on using a hexagon shape to mimic the curve of the C. I created three hi-fi versions of the logo for them to choose. They liked the second choice the most and asked for the colors to be changed from teal to light blue. 

Below are the final logos in three indifferent color schemes - the first one is the main color scheme, the second is for dark backgrounds, and the their is a black and white version. 

I learned a lot about logo design and working with clients from this project. CIEN Consulting were very impressed and satisfied with the creation of this logo. I'm very glad I was able to help give their brand a more concrete identity.
