Branding and visual identity for small ice-cream manufacturer; Lille Isfabrik

The brief
Lille Isfabrik has worked creatively with handmade ice-cream based on Nordic principles in the crafting process. The year of 2017 they decided to expand by opening a store in Hellerup's Rotunden. This created an obvious opportunity to develop a brand identity and take a more strategic approach to branding, thus the cooporation with Propellos was initiated. Our task was to develop Lille Isfabrik's brand essence and create the visual branding elements in the new store and other materials.
Brand essence and storytelling
To create a differentiated position for Lille Isfabrik we developed a to-the-point brand essence based on market research. It was important to tell the story of how the ice cream is made on Danish ice cream production principles and sustainability. The production process can be divided into four steps. A hand-drawn illustration was made for each step. The story was placed in-store and shows how the ice cream is made with fresh and natural ingredients, which by hand is stirred into a unique mass of ice ready to be filled into tasty cups of ice cream.
A "cloud" made with water color by hand illustrates the texture and the swirl of the hand made ice cream. This dynamic visual element is used with the grafical logo to create a contrast. The visual element is a key element for the visual identity and differs from competitors visual expression and create a reference to the hand-made ice cream.
