iZettle Card Reader

Payments have
never been smoother

Since 2011, iZettle has been committed to help small companies, startups and entrepreneurs to grow and develop. They continuously challenge the norm of how payments should work.
For us at Howl and Frankly, it was important to understand in depth how the merchant and the customer use the product, to create an user experience that is truly intuitive as well as trustworthy. Our solution was to optimise and boil down the physical and the digital product to its core essence.
Stationary / portable
The dock charges the card reader and allows for stationary use. Undocked, the card reader can reach customers in different locations and has a battery life of 8 hours.
Contactless payments / chip / magstripe
Docked on the counter or on the move, the card reader takes payments with the chip or magstripe. It also supports contactless payments via card and Apple Pay or Android Pay.
Functional design
To be an intuitive experience, the card reader has a functional design with clear, large buttons and a display that gives explicit messages to the customer. To help guide through the payment, the dock lifts and angles the card reader towards the customer.
iZettle system
The merchant overviews the payment in iZettle app on a smart device, IOS or Android. Data between card reader and iZettle app is transferred via Bluetooth. With the use of Apple Pay/Android Pay, no banks are involved and the iZettle system proceedes payments faster than previous systems.
