I remember always wishing, dreaming I could visit the big flagship FAO Schwarz store in New York's 5th Avenue. Such a magical, fun place. I never did get the chance, but I did recently have the amazing opportunity to create an illustration for the FAO.com website. Ty Mattson provided art direction for the project, including initial loose sketches.
This illustration was the very first piece of what has become an extensive, on-going branding project for FAO Schwarz, spanning from packaging to product design to interior design elements in the flagship store located in Rockefeller Center in New York City.
