LOLA T70 Classic Custom Art

Hola Lola!

I have always think that being a designer requires to handle many roles in one; along the process of creation you become somebody else, from observer to interpreter, from journalist to counselor, from thinker to designer, from designer to artist…ah! yes, also you must be a good customer service agent and accountant. ;)

When the Lola T70 project came to me, I was asked to do something funky, playful, psychedelic and retro. Right away I felt this “request” was totally aligned to who I am, or who I have become, as it is through all my past experiences where I had the opportunity to totally be immerse into this surreal world.

So, I mention this because, for this project the first thing that came to my mind was “I am becoming an stylist! / fashion designer”, I was feeling that I needed to create an “outfit” for this white car. Put some funky clothes there with some lettering pattern! ;)

About lettering design.

Letters alone, are for me like solo singers.
Letters together are for me like a rock band where each letter play an instrument and once they starts playing in great synchronicity they sound like a message.

I feel like I am the stylist of these letters!

Taking this kind of projects where art mixes with communication and design are my favorites!
I always discover new ways to mix the unmixeable, designers are like djs!…yes, we are visual Dj’s. ;)

You can see below the creative process and final result that gave life to this classic racing car.
First delivery mock up. I have created a 70 number, yes! other of my passions is to create numbers ;)
This is my head.
All creation starts in the mind...sometimes I have a lot of stuff on it, so I must have an external hard drive, commonly known as sketchbook.
