Map of the University of Technology, Sydney
Illustrated for Vertigo Magazine 2016
Reminiscent of Mufasa’s words to Young Simba, “Everything the light touches is our kingdom”. Of course, UTS does strike compelling resemblance to this timeless Disney narrative. It, like the Pride Lands of Africa, holds multiple meeting points for bodies to gather and feast. Bar Broadway, for example, likens itself to the local watering hole.
In celebration of UTS’ Open Day, I illustrated the surrounding areas of our so-called “Pride Lands” of UTS. It documents the building locations and numbers, as well as popular food destinations. Meticulously hand-drawn, the map is featured in the centrefold of UTS’ Student Magazine, Vertigo.
