In Loving Memory of Colour
There are a lot of reasons that much of my work is monochrome or desaturated - not least because I think as viewers we trust black and white images more than we do colour. Also, when things are reduced to black and white, it's less information to take it, so you can concentrate on the composition more.
That aside, I'll be the first to admit it, colour terrifies me. I don't know if I just missed that week in art class or at college, but I never feel like I've had a great grasp of working with it. So, with this in mind, I'm undertaking a series of personal experiments that are intended to be a riot of colour, and this is where I'll share them. Paint, ink, lights, powder, whatever.
