Color Blind Architect

The project exhibits on an architect who works on color usage, but in fact can not perceive colors, the color blind architect’s process of following one’s design by having a blindness on one’s claim.
Color is used to emphasize on symbol / form / function; specifications of scale / function / identity are accepted as the colors’ mission.

Based on color blindness tests, visuals have been manufactured. Within the dominant color tones that the color blind architect can see, typographic factors have been manufactured by the colors that one can not see.

In the series consisting of 5 visuals, the typographic factors identified on the test materials are identified as C,O,L,O,R for the “imperceptible” color paradox and tests are made.

In the tests which have been prepared conveniently for monochromatic color blind people, the architect could not see the typographic symbols positioned in the middle of the visual due to one can not perceive red and green colors, even one can perceive the arranged colors between the yellow-blue dominant color scale.

* The photographs of Mexican Engineer-Architect Luis Barragan’s, who is one of the most important representatives of color usage in architecture, are used in the color blindness tests which are outputs of the project.
“What if the architect can not see, sort, distinguish, perceive colors?”
