Tiger Translate 2012 Entry
The theme for Tiger Translate 2012 is street, as I was briefed by Kult Singapore to represent Jakarta. The idea of street gods came from the moment I yelled at 2 - 3 people in the streets, the crazy bus drivers, wild motor cyclist, and some jobless football fans who begged for money to go home. Those people in the street represents Jakarta, a metropolitan city with great growth in economy but lack in morality, the gap between the rich and the poor is getting higher and higher. Anarchy, law violations, and crime rates had increased in the last 10 years. The funny thing is, the moment I finished this illustration, Jakarta has been flooded with lots of anarchic demonstrations.
