Classrooms ( 2+ & 3+ Age Group)
Wall space division.

Character Development for the classroom walls. 4 n ground floor and 5 on the first floor.

Tile grout mixed with regular wall emulsion forms the base of these walls. After 3 coats when the wall is buffed the paint owing to the increased consistency acts like a blackboard. This was chosen over the alternative of fixing slate or using the regular black paint.
The lower half hence acts as a chalkboard and the three ropes act as display units where the children's work can be hung.

There are available coloured chalkboard paints available on special request but that requires a much larger budget since the companies will not sell you the paint. You have to hire their specialists to execute the finish on the desired walls.

Design for the cabinets. The upper cabinet meant for the teacher's things and supplies to be used under her supervision was going to be sliding aluminum doors. We decided to use aluminium since sliding in wood do not work as well. Plus the ground floor was very open and aluminium has a longer shelf life. The sliding doors help curbing the possibility of kids running into open cupboard doors and hurting themselves.
The lower half was to have a single hinge door. The door could have shelves to help spread out the material that children need to access as per their own will without needed or using shelves.
Each room has three cabinets. 1 door will have a small bookshelf. the second door has art supplies and the third was left bare with the option of placing a mirror inside.
Simple patch work on suede cushions.
Shoe and bag shelves on both floors. detailed drawings for the same as given to the carpenter. The shelves were fitted directly on the walls. and made out of BWR grade ply and mica. All the corners were rounded off for safety.
