Avrahom Joseph's profile

Chai Lifeline New Jersey Encourages Volunteers

As an undergraduate of Ocean County College located in New Jersey, Avrahom Joseph took courses in areas such as marketing, public relations, and business law. Presently based in the Lakewood area, Avrahom Joseph supports numerous philanthropic endeavors, including Chai Lifeline.

Chai Lifeline meets the needs of children dealing with serious illnesses and their families. Best known as a cancer-support organization, it operates around the world, and each family it helps receives its services free of charge. The New Jersey chapter helps families in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. Many of the patients in this chapter receive medical care at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), so the organization offers daily shuttle service from New Jersey locations to the CHOP and accommodations at the Chai House, which is an apartment near the hospital.

The Chai House New Jersey chapter encourages individuals to become involved, and they can do so by participating in volunteer opportunities, which include becoming a counselor or staff member at Camp Simcha, providing transportation assistance, making daytime visits at the hospital, or offering home-based support. Volunteers also tutor children or become a mentor.
