Talking Walls "light'

 

In/C commissioned me to create a Talking Walls light for their event, Toekomstforum Sociale Economie, May 19th, STUK, Leuven Belgium

Instead of painting directly on a wall on location, this animation is painted on a minimum size canvas of 1.5 on 2 meter.

During the event I've asked visitors to give me keywords regarding the socio-economic industry. I've added the words on the painting during that day and used them in the stop motion movie.

The end product is a quality artwork ready to be mounted and a short animation.

 

This artwork is painted in my studio, the input of the patron/employees or families is still crucial to create the work.

Instead of talking to people on location, the input comes from questions I ask through email or by phone.

The patron can chose to work around a theme a subject or even one word.

I will read and listen to the input, subtract and select elements from it to create a coherent work.

Depending on the complexity of the subject, the creation takes 1 to 3 weeks.
