I’ve been animating walls in abandoned buildings for a few years now. ‘Talking Walls’ is an ongoing project. This, however, was my first ‘animation on canvas’.
My other work disappears when the buildings are demolished, this time I wanted to create something that would last. I set out to paint the work first and add an element that I could animate directly on the canvas.

The result is a painting that stands on its own and a video (gif) that shows the animation in loop. The paintings are 70 by 78 inches, ink and gesso on canvas.
