Small Scale Identity
Jason O. Stevens is a Boston-based brand experience producer and project manager. After several years of managing creative projects on the side, Jason made the decision to quit his “day job” and launch his own freelance practice.

Jason reached out to me to redesign his personal branding. The brief was to create an intelligent system that he could use across all branded material. The typographic solution renders the JOS name in a stencil serif approach, leading to a business card where one side looks like a cryptic punctuation message but the other provides an answer. The detached serif pieces are then used as an abstract graphic device, functioning as a pattern that once again forms the JOS name. The logo letter forms detach as puncuation marks, hinting towards the nature of Jason’s work — and transform into decorative elements on the stationary backs. Using a monochromatic color pallet, the identity aims to work along side imagery and other graphic elements.
