Fictional exhibition. Digital paintings and photos
The initial question for this personal project was very simple. Where could my digital paintings and sculptures be shown outside of galleries? This resulted in paintings that are a combination of my digital paintings and my own photos with a mobile phone.
Where would I like to see my pictures? Would these be places where consumption and trade normally take place? Or are these the places that no one cares about.
I believe that the places that are forgotten and neglected are more artistically interesting.
The fictional combination of my paintings with architecture seems to generate new narratives.
Political murals are characterized by striking messages. What happens if these slogans are missing? Are the pictures then just decoration?
How do disturbing paintings work in places that are not intended to evoke feelings?
Or will the cliché that art is more incomprehensible be confirmed once again?
Would people feel harassed or ignore and overlook the art? Does cultural context increase quality? Is art better in a museum than on a garage door?
Does size matter? Theoretically, digital art knows no limits. That could be an advantage.
Images in public spaces could age with the environment …
… and decay with the buildings.
One idea would be to show the images only once for a short time and then never again. Would that increase their value or importance? Or is this just conceptual nonsense?
Or do the pictures end up in an illegal garbage dump. An exhibition location that has never been consciously and intentionally chosen before.
