Nuraw Chair
Reclaiming a futuristic raw icon
_
The industrial, technological, graphic, and urban universe that has characterized the last decades has always been one of the sources that inspires me aesthetically the most. Hence, my desire to amalgamate all these influences in an uncharted territory for me: furniture design.

This project stands as a functional and visual exploration, where two seemingly contrasting concepts - the "raw" and the "refined" - harmoniously converge. This fusion breathes life into a chair that transcends the iconic boundaries of the contemporary fashion industry. The chair's structure is essentially composed of two elements that contrast in terms of touch and properties: iron and fabric. The system of metal pipes and their solid assembly merges with the fabric inspired by technical, elastic, and meticulously stitched materials, achieving an appropriate tension for comfort and ergonomics. The stamped LED typography evokes the digital and intangible world, in contrast to the solidity of physical construction.

The evolution of the visual discourse unfolds in ethereal spaces, intertwining the boundaries of Brutalist architectural environments, desert landscapes, or spaces that evoke emptiness. That being said, the project ultimately seeks to become an exercise in visual exploration, surpassing the confines of its potential functionality to emerge as a larger-scale artistic expression.
