Eight / Eighths
Eight signatures. A gift signature for each graphic designer. 8/8 was born within the personal project Craft Publishing, a research on publishing and selfpublishing as territory of crafted research that keeps alive a process of exchange between traditional and digital techniques. The whole project is the result of the convergence between manual and software.
Considering the nature of this product, the aim is not to draw a complete historical excursus, but to identify some contributions useful to understand the centrality of the graphic design. The objective is stimulate the theoric immersion (word) methabolize and recreate the practice (tribute-image) of the modus operandi of great masters of publishing and visual communication. A chromatic order traces a path in the design culture through the words of eight icons that, with their research work and experimentation, have written the history of the graphic design.
