Brief: To redesign the wheel barrow to improve functionality and make storage and transportation easier.
This is the redesign of a wheel barrow / yard cart focusing on improved functionality and storage. (please watch the video above for the full story). I chose to use two wheels because with heavy loads it's much more stable and less likely to tip, but still very manouverable. The barrow folds up for easy storage and parts dissassemble so that they are easy to replace. The handles are adjustable for different users.
I realise that this isn't the end of the story. There are so many areas that can be improved upon. Ultimately I suppose, the conclusion would be an advanced (but very expensive) carrying robot that removes the need for human activity, but in between now and then we can definitely make better types of wheelbarrow / yard cart. I'm thinking about barrows that can grow to carry items of differing lengths, or that use fulcrums to empty themselves, or can swap between different sized and shaped containers like a pallet truck.
