DoubleMe3D is a 3D scanning & 3D printing service, mainly aimed at pregnant couples to give them the oppertunity to create a 3dimensional memory of that special time in their life.
But Naturally a lot of other applications can be imagined with this combination of techniques.

Combined 3D scanning and 3D printing to realise this product.
Using 3D scanning software for the MS Kinect the individual is scanned into the computer to generate a representing mesh. While scanning the vertical position of the mounted kinect is controlled by a custom piece of software using an Arduino. The mesh still needs some tweaking to create a printable mesh. Then it is sent to the 3D printer.
Some time later, the product is done.
Kunst-ig developed this product and my role is this project was mainly in the first R&D stages, brainstorming, advise on 3D, research in software, testing different approaches, etc.
