Circles Unmasked Conference Branding

Circles Conference is a two-day creative design conference by Circles Co., bringing together designers and makers from around the globe. Learning from
transformative thinkers and connecting with like-minded innovators, Circles
provides a space where attendees will be challenged to push themselves in the creative process while drawing inspiration from those thriving in the industry.

My task for my Design Communication 2 class at Austin Community College was to design event material for Unmasked: A Creative Design Conference, presented by Circles Co. The event was canceled in 2022; however, I designed the event material as if it was to take place in person. I created the conference badge, an Instagram post, interior signage with ADA compliant braille, a roll-up banner, takeaways in the form of a branded ink pen and coffee mug, and a canvas tote to use to haul around conference goodies.

The visual concept for Circles: Unmasked 2022 was inspired by the mid-century modern aesthetic seen throughout the mood board I created early in this project. This optimistic, forward-thinking aesthetic leans heavily on fat, bold sans serifs and bold serif fonts with rounded terminals. The colors were pulled from paint swatches featured in a 1950s Sears catalog. The finished conference pieces mix mid-century stylized type, popular colors of that era, and geometric, linear shapes to create a cohesive conference brand with a mid-century modern look and feel.
