Knäck Branding Style Guide

Imagine a coffee shop that's for the 18+ up crowd. The interior is filled with cozy, comfortable places to sit. There Wi-Fi is strong. There are plenty of electrical outlets available to charge your laptop. The Swedish-style pastries are baked fresh each day, and the coffee and espresso drinks will keep you trucking along as you work remotely, complete projects, or sit and read a book. Sounds like a bit of heaven, yes?

This coffee shop, called Knäck (pronounced with like "snake" but with a hard KN), was my brain-child for my Design Communications II class in the spring 2022 semester. Knäck is a Swedish word with multiple meanings. In addition to being a breakable toffee served during the Christmas season, it also means "to break". Take a break at Knäck and lose yourself in an environment built for people who want to get away while they work.

The moodboard set the tone for project filled with warm, friendly colors and images of a comfortable environment.
