Pilarian – a case for Raspberry Pi
The Raspberry Pi board is a $35 computer, which has the ability to become a great number of devices, from providing a platform for programming to creating a home media centre. We were asked by Pilarian to design a case for the Raspberry Pi board, which could be produced using 3D printing.
The design outcome was created digitally using sculpting and scripting software and is printed in Nylon plastic, which allows it to remain delicate yet strong.
The form language is a result of numerous constraints and requirements, including the reduction of material volume, flexibility of function and distribution of heat. Numerous ports and connections also had to be considered, allowing for adaptability to future generations of Pi boards.
