Meet Carlos (my wife give him this name btw). I saw him on an old paper photo a few years ago, and as soon i saw him i decided that i have to make it in 3D. His look... sadness and pride, i dont know, it captured me instantly. So, some technical details:
Big big thanx to Ten24 for the skin shading technique (the patient), i had to tweak it a little bit for my taste. Of course the hat and the beard is fiberfx, but the tiny fibers of the cords were made in post, not too many, just a few here and there for better result. The lighting is quite simple: DP infinite +area, the overall polycount in modeler: 156K, there are two main fiber settings for the hat, one for the little ones and one for the biggers. The beard is entirely controlled by two main maps, a density map and another map for the size (+ color, of course). Well; i hope you like him!
