High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photography
High Dynamic Range, or HDR, is a type of post-editing process that turns photographs into paintings—at least, that’s my take on what it appears to do. Since stumbling on Trey Ratcliff online and seeing him work his HDR magic, I’ve been inspired to pick up on it myself and create some “photo paintings.”

Although HDR has a surreal-like effect, I believe that it can make a photograph appear more similar to how the human eye sees things. With HDR, skies don't get blown out to white and the foreground doesn't silhouette to black; everything balances out and shines through in a beautiful radiance.
