Suicide Worldwide
Suicide is a very important health issue in society that often does not get enough attention. In some societies, it is regarded as taboo, and people do not discuss the topic at all. Nevertheless, no matter where you are in the world, suicide certainly does exist, and the numbers of it all can be a bit shocking.

To expose others to the severity of suicide, I created an extensive infographic covering the facts and figures on both a worldwide scale and a national scale. Maps are used to show suicide rates, highlighting countries and states that have the highest rates. Other mentioned topics include suicide attempts, suicide by age, suicide by gender, methods of suicide, and others. These are shown through the use of bar graphs, pie charts, ISOTYPE icons, area graphs, tables, and callout text. Content is shown comparatively so the viewer can easily make connections with regional factors, gender factors, and others.

This infographic also mentions a number of psychological concepts behind suicide, such as risk factors and warning signs. It is important to be aware of these in order to increase prevention efforts and ultimately reduce suicide rates, if possible.
