This course was done during a 4 month exchange program to Hochschule Ostwestfalen Lippe, in Detmold, Germany.
As part of a course on wood exploration, we were supposed to make a sculpture of an African mask out of the trunk of a Birch tree, within a period of 3 days.
We did a few explorations using clay to decide how it was to look. Tools used were handtools like mallot, chisel, axe and saw.
