Fact of the Day 1
Fact of the Day 1 posts facts about the tech industry, business leadership and though provoking ideas.
The Project-
Fact of the Day 1 wanted a modern, responsive website to host their daily Fact posts. They wanted a minimal aesthetic that would promote the content, and not distract from it. The content needed to be easily updatable and required a filtered search function.

The Home page would feature summaries of the most recent post, as well as posts from the previous week, and the most popular posts. The posts must be searchable by topic categories, and through the use of a search form. Each post summary would link to a complete post page that would have related topic category links, links to older and newer posts, and a Like/Dislike button.

Pages were also needed for About Us and Contact information, and a Comments section, but searchable daily Facts were the most important feature. The CMS system needed to be easy to use and update, while serving the content quickly.
The Solution-
The Webflow platform was chosen both for it's fast, secure AWS and CDN hosting, and also for it's easy to use dashboard and highly customizable CMS system. Webflow allowed for rapid design and development for an MVP site, with a staging area for A/B testing of different layouts, interactions, and animations.

A minimal, modern card style layout was chosen and implemented for a clean, consistent, easy to navigate, and responsive experience. Interactions were created that enhance but don't distract from the Fact of the Day 1 content. Icons for the Topic Category buttons were designed in Adobe Illustrator.

Webflow's CMS search functions allowed for filtered search as well as faceted category search. The popular posts are filtered though a Parabola recipe in conjunction with Google Analytics page views data. Like/Dislike buttons, email subscriptions, and a Comment section are all driven by 3rd party integrations. Previous/Next buttons were added with Javascript code.
