Jagged Little Pixel

Jagged Little Pixel is a small clothing boutique based in Seattle, Washington. They needed a Brand Identity; primarily a Logo and a simple Style Guide, to communicate and focus their Digital Marketing Strategy and social media presence. They also needed an E-Commerce solution and SEO strategy to market their urban, graphic clothing line on the internet. Their brand tag line is "A dark little shop with a jagged little edge."
A grid based logo was quickly developed after a few preliminary sketches to convey the idea of a pixel. We wanted to create something that was iconic and scalable for the brand that could iterate across various media and backgrounds. We settled on a grid cut-out from the upper left since most western cultures start reading from that area, and experimented with several ways to communicate jaggedness.  A 4x4 grid was used to better scale across all media screens.
From there I set on crafting a Style Guide based on a color palette that reflected the bold, dark and urban feel that Jagged Little Pixel wanted to communicate. After the Logo, typography and colors were approved; I built a guide that will be used as a basis for both website and print media, including business cards and stationary, as well as brand labels, tags and product stickers.
After the Style Guide was approved, I began building the Jagged Little Pixel website. They wanted to have an on-line store, so I researched several E-Commerce platforms to serve the one that best fit their goals and budget. One of their needs was for an easy to use blogging platform to communicate and interact with their customers. They also wanted to collect emails, so they could offer specials and deals for regular and returning customers.

We choose WordPress with a Woo-Commerce integration for the basis of their on-line store and built a custom, mobile responsive website for them that reflected their Brand Identity as put forth in the Style Guide. Woo-Commerce has an easy to use dashboard that allows them to quickly update their store and WordPress is a world leading blogging platform. I added a MailChimp integration so they could collect and send marketing emails, and firewall, security and other plugins to keep the site safe and up-to-date.
Jagged Little Pixel wanted an easy to use blogging platform so they could boost organic search results through posting relevant content. I added the Yoast SEO plugin so they could monitor whether their content was matching their keyword search results or not. I also added Google Analytics and Tag Manager so they could track their website traffic and better target and test what their audience expects and wants.

Then I included Facebook and Instagram integrations so they could post content to both those platforms whenever they posted to their blog. This way they could post and boost their social engagement across three media platforms at once. It also makes it easy for them to post and track Facebook and Google Ads.
