Survival Tool Mock-up

Zombie Survival Tool Packaging Concept

This is a gimmick multi-tool concept. The idea was to sell a seemingly inexpensive product with a moore quality value. For this project I chose to create a zombie survival tool because I felt that the growing popularity of zombie gimmick gifts and items is growing larger. I thought a tool like this would be useful for the average person as well as be a fun gift idea for anyone who is interested in zombies.

The actually packaging is designed to replicate a fire extinguisher mounted glass box. The idea of the package would be that you'd rip it open or break the front off in order to get to the tool. The actual tool is blister modeled in which is also a common and annoying form of packaging to the consumer, which is why I chose it. The overall size of the package was chosen to illuminate the importance to the audience and stand out on the shelf.

The graphics on the packaging are intended to look serious but inevitably be very comical. The descriptions located on the back of the packaging list the various functions of each part of this multi-tool. They were all made up to specifically target the audience as to concepts of the zombie stories they'd enjoy.

This package would sit on an end cap isle so as to highlight it's importance as both a toy but furthermore as a potentially important item. The product would be found in gift shops, comedy stores, book stores, or anywhere you'd find other zombie related goods.
