Cul de Sac Coatbridge, where everybody knows my name!
I've recently been asked to design some posters for my local pub, Cul de Sac in Coatbridge, starting with one to promote their Sunday evening acoustic music sensation, Declan Hegarty.
It's a good chance to try out some new Illustrator & Photoshop techniques. I've been very busy with other projects lately so I haven't had much time to spend on these but hopefully as time goes on I'll be able to commit more time and do more interesting & unique images.
The main thing I'm looking forward to is seeing my own work up in my local though! When people ask what I'm up to these days, I can point to the wall and say "I do that now", awesome!

A Halloween poster with a Sin City/HammerHorror vibe. The pretty lady is stock (time against me again unfortunately) but the backgrounds are from my trip to New York back in 2008. The rain was made right here in Scotland!
A Shepard Fairley / Hydro74 inspired poster for a Tarot night. The illustration in the centre is stock.
I decided to start experimenting with Cinema 4D - some Greyscale Gorilla tutorials - this was a nice simple introduction to typography in Cinema.
A poster for Acoustic musician Declan Hegarty - just decided to keep it simple, the main thing to get over was that it was a laid back, lazy Sunday, acoustic sort of vibe, so I combined imagery of the guitar with vintage folk/country music design cues.
