Unicorn Kid: Lion Hat
Interactive Music Video Game
Back in 2009 I worked with Popmorphic studios to produce an interactive music video for dance/chip tune artist, Unicorn Kid.
The software allowed the user to control a path thru the game that could have multiple outcomes, the idea was to marry Unicorn Kids chiptune music with an 8 bit game styled music video.
The nature of the software was a challenge to output logistically, as you have to produce hours of footage that may never be seen and you cannot use editing to tell the story as editing would be controlled by the software. This edit is representative of the software, hence it is a little uninteresting.
I loved working on the project, I learned a lot. I'd everything different if I had the chance again, but I'm still pleased with the project.
The project was only rendered for web use and the game has since went offline, I've uploaded this rough cut so the work can be seen. I hope to revisit, re-render and re-edit the piece but I figured best to run this just now incase I don't ever get the time, ha ha!
