Lovin' it when a film comes together
Every year our team at The Learning Centre runs a film course teaching the fundamentals of writing and producing a short film.

In the past the posters have been a little too dry, rarely featuring real people and they've never really sold the course properly. I'm not criticising my colleagues work, I worked on them too in the past! This year I decided to tackle the concept myself, up the game a little, and do the course some justice with a "Hollywood Blockbuster" style poster. I'm pleased with the overall result, plus the numbers and interest generated seems to bevery positive.

The main concept is obviously based on the A-Team movie that is coming out this summer, we're just piggy backing off the interest that will be generated by that movie!

Myself and Cammy spent the day at the Summerlee Studio taking photos of our patient models Steph, Erin, Jade and Lonneke. I was the Art Director for the project so I picked the style, arranged the models, got the clothes and guided the photographer, models and make-up team to get the look I wanted. I then retouched the photos and did the layout for the posters and flyers.

THE MAIN POSTER PRODUCED TO PROMOTE ALL THE COURSES
Below are some One Sheets that were developed to promote specific courses and areas that were not doing as well as others.

They are prepress versions and there have been a few tweaks to the text, I'll post some photos of the final prints when they go up.

ERIN'S ONE SHEET
This was used to promote one course specifically, the Kilsyth Course.

This is a prepress version of Erin's one sheet from theLenshead Poster series. Erin is representing camera operators everywhere! Ireally like this image, reminds me of Jolie's Wanted poster. Cammy's retrocameras worked really well.
JADE'S ONE SHEET
This was used to promote one course specifically, the Airdrie Course.

I like this one the best, angles are cool and the lampreally works as a prop, plus Jade looks great. She's got that smoky eyedmysterious look down.
LONNEKE'S ONE SHEET
This was used to promote one course specifically, the Kilsyth Course. We shortened Lonneke's name to Loni to fit on the poster - hope she doesn't mind!

We're clutching at straws here but Lonneke's holding a reelof film is meant to represent film editing. Of course in reality she'd be in adark room with an Avid suite if she was really an editor. She'd also be 6 stoneheavier, bearded and have a vitamin D deficiency!
STEPHS'S ONE SHEET
This was used to promote one course specifically, the Airdrie Course.

Steph looks great in this image but I think the wind machinespoils her big hair which looks way better in some of the other shots and wecan't see her funky shoes!
STEPHS'S ONE SHEET - REJECTED

This was the image we had to reject for use as Steph's OneSheet because we didn't want to repeat roles and Erin was already assignedCamera Op in our master plan.

I've included here because I think Steph looks great in theshot and the makeup team did a great job with her hair and it deserved to beseen in all it's glory.
The Gang

The last shot of the day of the girls and Cammy (front left) and me (front right, with the bad hair and the awesome Inter shirt!).
