GE needed a display that consumed less than .1watt of stand-by powerdue to a new proposed legislation on October 2008. The propsal was to use electronic paper, mostly known as e-ink

This project involves exploring the use of a segmented e-ink dislplay for a retail microwave, creating a segmented font inspired in GE INSPIRA's font and redesigning the existing membrane to fit an e-ink display style.

Scalable Complexity | Seamless Segments | Infinite Viewing Angle

Playing with Cooking Animations and diferent potencial diagrams for the display, based on the actual design on the countertop microwave.
The color readjustment of the mebrane was using e-ink offset white and black colors allowing the display and menbrane to be visually unified as one.
