In 2009, the climate in Malaysia was frosty, to say the least. There was tension in the air and unity was showing signs of aging. Thank God for humour then.
The idea was simple: for National Day, we get 3 famous personalities (of different races), put them together and have them talk about "sensitive" issues, like racial stereotypes, mixed races, etc. We used humour to approach these issues, urging people to take it easy and remember that at the end of the day, we're all friends sharing the same home.
I saw people laughing when they watched them, so I guess they worked. It was a campaign of 7 ads. I'll just show you 4 of my favourite ones.
This won us a Bronze for Film Campaign at the Kancil Awards. Two of them also won special merits as individuals.
