Mission Trip Shirt
I was asked to design a shirt for a youth mission trip with a target audience of both youth (6th–8th grade) as well as adult volunteers. This large Methodist church requested something all participants would wear even after the trip.
I choose an antique cherry color as a more adult version of the bright red use on previous trips. I then designed a simple, yet bold typographic design to highlight the verse chosen for the trip (Psalm 71:5). The crisp white against red made a bold statement and this design has become a favorite among youth and parets, who both still wear this shirt.
To bring together the long title "Jr High Mission Trip" and the location of Waco, TX, I created a stamp style logo.
Psalm 71:5 was requested to be a major aspect of the design. Since the target audience was teens in 6th grade through 8th grade, a typography design was a modern take on the verse.
