A series of images for the short story 'Einde en Begin' (The End and the Beginning) by Dirk Vis, about humanity and society in the year 2075. It was commissioned by De Correspondent, as part of a series on alternatives to the Apocalypse, in which writers were asked to share a vision of a less bleak view on the future.
The story was told from the perspective of a hospitalized man nearing the end of his life, as he recalls the threats humanity faced at the beginning of the 21st century and how –through bioengineering– humanity always found a way to adapt themselves and their environment.
