541 Eatery and Exchange is located in a building originally constructed in 1907 for the Bank of British North America, which later became a Bank of Montreal branch. Today, the space is home to an eatery offering fresh, homemade meals and baked goods in the heart of Hamilton, Ontario. They are committed to providing food that is affordable and nutritious — a.k.a the “Eatery”. The “Exchange” is a place where ideas are shared and where people can engage with one another. 541 Eatery and Exchange uses their space and the proceeds from food sales to facilitate educational community initiatives, such as homework club, a youth employment program, and other skills training opportunities.

The scope of work included a complete facility audit and review of all building systems as well as complete interior design services. The design included design of the new commercial kitchen, prep areas, dining space, washrooms, entrance, meeting space, and check-out area. McCallum Sather's Interiors division provided millwork and furniture concepts and selections, and flooring, finishes, and lighting selections.
