Forevervoid are a metal band from Glasgow who asked me to refresh their image, so I’ve spent a few (more than a few!) months coming up with a logo design and branding that complimented their music.
I wanted to avoid black & red, flames and as many other metal clichés whilst retaining a few classic traits! I approached them with a concept involving the dark grey and gold, I was sure it represented them and their music as more mature & sophisticated but I also felt sure they wouldn’t go for it as it was quite a departure from their previous image. Fair play to them tho, they ran with it!
After coming up with the colours and full name logo, I came up with the idea of having a simpler initial logo using the letters F & V to form a roman numeral 4 (IV), they loved it and I started working. After a month they took on a fifth member of the group with no regard for my nice little idea, ha ha! Thankfully I knew I could rework the logo to highlight the V to represent the five of them. Bands!
We did a photoshoot at Summerlee that we got some good photos from, but I think I can safely say no one wanted to be there. Mental note, never arrange shoots with metal bands on a Saturday morning, it’s just not their finest hour!
