This project focuses on human interaction with packaging. I created fictional Post-Workout Supplement company RE•X as a basis for my research. These supplements are dissolvable effervescent tablets intended for sports water-bottles and easy storage. They include muscle-regrowth stimulants for easy post-workout drinks.
I began the process with research online and in store, and then moved to sketches. I typically sketch freehand and then move to digital.
My solution for this challenge was a 3 pack of 3 supplements each, about the size of a pack of gum. These 3 packs are held together at the seems and perforated at each section for easy tearing. A single sleeve is wrapped around all three packs for easy, durable shipping and handling. Once the sleeve is removed, each packet can be torn off from the others to fit into pockets, gym bags, or purses.
Tablets are vaccuum sealed with a specially formulated foil that won't drop into the beverage. These tablets can be pressed outwards through holes in the back of the packet, right into the top of a water bottle or other drink. Once dissolved, they're ready for consumption by the athlete.
