The United Way of Kansas City was perceived as a single charity, not as a means of donating to dozens of local organizations with one gift. We opted to feature local people the United Way had helped in a dynamic, emotional way that moved beyond case studies and testimonials while reinforcing local ties. The "We Can Be One" film was selected as Campaign Film of the Year by the national UW office. The song was written by me and scored and produced by Rhythm Cafe, Chicago. "One Act" was selected as Best of Brand for television commercials.
