Plesiosaur attack on the Amazon River.

A 19th century expedition is attacked by the last dinosaur.
This is an illustration for a project depicting the life of Hercules Peabody, an imaginary character who was a 19th century explorer and steam-punk inventor. Among his many exploits he charted the darkest and most forbidding parts of the Amazon and discovered a live plesiosaur that had somehow survived in the murky waters of the great river.
The final product is a framed print made to look like an old and faded drawing by Hercules Peabody himself.
Pencil on paper, drawn on several layers then combined in Photoshop, with added yellowed paper textures.
