I've been reading a lot of children's books lately - and I particularly love Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach.
Decided to make my own rendition of the book jacket.
Here's a peek into some of the process work that went into the design. This one actually came together really quick for some reason - so I don't have a lot of process photos.
The first obvious idea I was to put all of the character shapes inside the shape of a peach since for the most part - the story is about the time they spend together there.
I started by dividing the peach shape into designated areas for each of the characters - that way I knew they would all fit inside the shape - and that they would relate to each other in with a visual flow.
