I thought it would be fun to bring a modern look to a classic nursery room staple.
(I read the old rhymes from the classic book - they're so weird!)
I kept my thumbnails really basic for this project - but as you can see, the final came out a lot different than the first sketches.
After I had redsigned the goose on screen - I printed it out to sketch the flower and leaf shapes.
I always try to block in my values over my sketch before I start adding color just to make sure things are reading. Usually, the values end up changing slightly as I add color, but for the most part they stay the same.
Sloppily adding color at this point is my favorite part of the whole process.
The whole image becomes a playground, and I get to decide who plays with who.
