Begin is a simple project planning app for the iPad. Users can plan their company's latest project or simply keep track of their life. This is the retina display optimised and refreshed look for version 2.0 of the Begin app, incorporating many new features.

Begin's core value is its simplicity, it doesn't try to do too much. I wanted the refreshed design to match Begin's simplicity.  I looked at each existing screen to see how it could be made simpler with a new approach.

I removed the lines, patterns, gradients and extra screens, the font became much lighter in weight. The only colour in the app was now from the items and the new fresh blue colour used for call to actions on buttons and text links. I created an icon set for the different options in the bottom tool bar.

In support of the app I helped storyboard a supporting video to promote the app on the website, in the app and for PR purposes. We highlighted the Begin brand values, how to create a plan and its worldwide use from construction to beauticians. The storyboard was then given to the video production team to produce.
