An exercise in visual grammar. Our task was to create five stills or animations for a gov.uk campaign that promotes sustainability. I really wanted to try my hand at making GIFs, so designed these stop-frame animations using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.

All illustrations and words are my own.
#REACT was initially an apronym, which I decided to eventually let go as it was restricting the copy and imagery I could use too much. Nevertheless, it still seemed like a fitting hashtag to use for the campaign, so it stuck.

Each animation is led by an action, in orange, and a statistic to support it, in white. I decided to stick to a limited colour pallet to help the five images to feel more like a set. I have found I work well with limitations like these.
The above grid shows a collection of development, most of which were eventually rejected or changed for one reason or another.
